A quick review of his discography from the death of his daughter until he reordered Designated Drinker w/ Alan Jackson in the early 2000s, reveals his songs were alcohol free (which is an impressive accomplishment in the county music genre). But to get through the tragedy of losing his daughter, George Strait had to be the rock for his family, and thats how he became the rock for country music.
